These women, like so many others in America, see their pets as more than animals. Many people see their pets as part of the family and therefore treat them accordingly. We shape our homes and lives around them and treat them like special members of our family. These dogs are more than dogs. They are like the women’s own children and they receive nearly equal attention and love as do many children. We get a great sense of satisfaction from this relationship and care dearly for our pets. Consequently, many decisions people make often take into account the impact they may have on their new family members, or pets.
